Whitecourt Minor Hockey Association - Refund Policy
Policy: Registration Refund Policy
Purpose: To establish a policy for refund of registration fees.
1. Parents, guardians or players wishing to have all or a portion of their registration fees refunded must do so in writing to the President and state their reasons for requesting a refund.
2. A minimum $50 administration fee will apply to players registered who withdraw prior to the beginning of try outs.
Initiation and Novice Divisions:
A minimum fee of $50 will be charged against registration fees prior to any refund being calculated. Refund of fees will be pro-rated accordingly over the hockey season. There will be no reimbursement allotted if a player chooses to quit after December 15th of the season. The hockey season for these divisions is defined as 6 months (October – March).
Atom thru to Midget including Female Divisions:
A minimum fee of $50 will be charged against registration fees prior to any refund being calculated.
Should a player skate during the tryout/evaluation period and subsequently decide not to play, tryout fee will be withheld from any refund.
Refund of the balance of registration fees will be pro-rated accordingly over the hockey season; the season is defined as 7 months (September to March). There will be no reimbursement allotted if a player chooses to quit after December 15th of the season.
Player Refunds due to Injury and/or relocation:
Players injured during WMHA activities (game play, practice, dry-land, etc.) may be eligible for partial registration refunds. Injury duration must be 8 weeks or greater, proof of injury and duration expecting to be out shall be provided by a doctor’s note. Refund requests must be submitted in writing to the President of WMHA, all injury refunds must be approved by the WMHA Executive group.
Note: No refunds will be issued for players if the player has been suspended or expelled for disciplinary reasons.
